Week 3 Story: Buck and Doe

Image
Authors Notes: This story is taken from the Biblical story of Adam and Eve. In the creation of the world, God created Adam and he needed Eve. Satan tricks Eve into disobeying God by eating from the forbidden tree. Eve talks Adam into eating it also and God punishes them for their disobedience. This story was taken Title: Adam and Eve Authors: Genesis-Ginzberg-Book of Adam & Eve http://mythfolklore.blogspot.com/2014/05/myth-folklore-unit-adam-and-eve.html Adam and Eve at the Forbidden Tree Link In the beginning God created everything that was sky, land, oceans and animals. God saw that everything was perfect in his image and kept it that way. God then created a Buck to watch over the land and care for it. Buck gave all the creatures on the land names and took pride in God’s work. Buck needed someone to help him replenish the earth and care for it. So God took a rib from Buck and from it turned dust into Doe. Buck and Doe lived within the garden that God had created from

Title: Book of Adam and Eve http://mythfolklore.blogspot.com/2014/05/myth-folklore-unit-adam-and-eve.html Three days after Adam and Eve were punished God planted a garden East of the earth. To the north of the garden there was a pure sea. Anyone that washed themselves in the sea would be made clean and white. The souls that God really wanted will be washed in the sea to made pure of pure. To the south of the garden was good land, however God did not want to place Adam there because the wind blew from the north and Adam would smell the delicious smells coming from the garden. To the west of the garden was very broad. So God placed Adam in a rock dwelling in the west known as the Cave of Treasures below the garden. Adam and Eve visited the garden and saw that they were not coming from inside the garden and were entering a land they did not know of. God told Adam that they will be there for five and a half days were fulfilled. Adam, not understanding God, asked for an explanation.

He then created man from dust to till the land. God saw that he created everything and everything was good. God's first man creation was Adam. "If you were to eat from it, they would surely die", he told Adam. Adam went tot work on the land and gave names to all the animals that roam, flew, and swam on earth. God put Adam to sleep and took a rib and created a woman called Eve. God told the two to be fruitful and replenish the earth. They both were naked and were not ashamed. http://growthmindsetmemes.blogspot.com For the first article I choose "A fixed mindset could be holding you back--here's how to change it". This article has its ups and downs to me! I like how it talks about how a fixed mindset can make you a brittle person and hold you back. Fixed mindsets hold people back and won't let you reach your full potential. However, I do believe that there are a few things that having a fixed mindset is okay to have. There has to be winners and losers in this world and when it comes to sports and games, losing makes you a better player. When it comes to doctors, working outside your scope of practice can cause someone their life. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-06-26/fixed-vs-growth-mindset-at-work-and-in-life/9897782 In my other article I chose "A Simple 5-Second Habit to Rewire Your Harshly Self-Critical Brain". I like this article because it talks about taking things with a grain of salt. The body and mind is wired t

After doing a little research on different storybook ideas, I really like the stories Dante's Inferno,  Alice in Wonderland, Nursery Rhymes from the British Unit, and Myths of the Cherokee. First off, I LOVE DANTE'S INFERNO! It is one of my favorite trilogies that I have read and I love to see all the details within this story! I would create my storybook around the different levels of Inferno and the meaning of that level. Yeah this might be a lot to cover, but it would be an interesting story to cover.  http://www.worldofdante.org/gallery_main.html Dante's Levels of Inferno  The Alice in Wonderland story has always been interesting to me because there is so much hidden details in it. I have heard that every person in the story represents a disorder or a problem that occurs within people. I would focus on the story line and more information about the symbolic meaning behind that specific person. This is a story I have heard of growing up, but I don't know t

Week 2 Story: The Ghost Who Wrestled with a Man

Image
The Ghost Who Wrestled with a Man A long time ago, there was a ghost that walked the streets of a small town. He came to the edge of the town and laid down to rest. He started a fire and covered himself with a blanket. Hearing some twigs breaking, he ripped a hole in the blanket and peeped out to see what was coming. A man walked up  to the laying ghost and felt the ghost’s leg to see if he was real. After touching his leg, the man took a knife and tried to cut the ghost’s leg off. Before he could the ghost jumped up and screamed “What are you doing?” Frightening him, the man took off running back into the town. The next day, after a long walk along the town, the ghost again found a spot to make a fire and lay down to rest. He covered himself with the blanket and heard a man singing. With the voice getting louder, the man peeped out of the hole and saw a man walking Ghost Google Image up. The man asked the ghost “Wake up and give me some food.” The ghost gave the man some berries

Time Strategies

Image
For my article I choose:  11 Ways Unsuccessful People Mismanage Their Time  by Áine Cain I really like this article because it points out all the bad things you could do when managing time! Procrastinating, no record keeping, and no rituals were all mentioned!  Time management is one of my strong suit! I have a daily calendar that have to go by! I always add my assignments and events in it and it keeps me on track! I don’t think time management will hurt my studies this semester! Don’t do this! https://www.memesmonkey.com/topic/funny+time+management

Technology

I love that this class is not restricted to canvas! We are all about to graduate and by learning many different compute skills will only be if it is in the long run! I’m excited to learn how to make a website and learn how to work different platforms! I feel like that will be useful one day! I will have to get use to using chrome because me go to is safari! However, I do like that I can add the spellcheck function for the browser! That will really help me because spelling isn’t my strong suit! https://makeameme.org/meme/having-computer-problems

Assignments

I really think this class is going to be easy and simple! That is going to make learning the new material easy and easily rememberable! The extra credit assignments seem easy enough that I might just do them to get done early! i'm really excited to get tot the Native American week to see if I have heard any of the tales and compare them to what I know!  I ready to dig into the reading material to see what we are covering first! https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1509514-cat-and-cat-cake

Growth Mindset

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx00ZI3b3XQ  I have never heard about Carol Dweck before this assignment! However I really do like the who idea of praising the process! It makes sense that fixed mindset can hinder someone to make them think that are not good enough to do better. I am interested to learn more about the science behind it and the different findings from all the studies. https://www.asaporg.com/articles/leadership/fixed-mindset-vs-growth-mindset Growing up being a percussionist , there were many days that playing the right beats at the right moment was hard. However, our instructors taught us that if we keep practicing we will eventually get it with easy. This is the same concept that Carol Dweck is talking about in her videos. I plan on using this idea of studying this semester and testing it out myself to see if it helps! I plan on looking more into it and see if there are any more studies that go along with this learning concept. http://blogs.edweek.org

Storybook Favorites

Image
Storybook Favorites https://sites.google.com/site/alamostorybook/ After looking through many different storybooks, I have found 3 that really jump out at me! I like it when the title really pops and pulls the reader in with interesting topics. I really like color schemes that flow, however too much of one color can throw off the reader and lose the intention of some. However, being simple and having an easy flow can go along way. The first story book that jumps out is the storybook "Witches of Oz"! I like how the story focus on the withes and the stories behind them. What really jumps out at me is how the creator uses the four cardinal directions and the introduction as the tabs. That really keeps the book simple and pleasing to the eye. https://sites.google.com/view/witchesofoz/home The second story that jumped out to me is the storybook "OU's Haunted Halls". The title name jumped out to me the most because it sounds very interesting! I like the tabs

MY FAVORITE PLACES

For the first post of this blog I am going to talk a little about my favorite places to be! I couldn't decide on just one so I narrowed it down to two different places! The Vegas Strip https://www.visitlasvegas.com Viva Las Vegas! I love everything Vegas has to offer! From the music, to the atmosphere, gambling, fast paced life, nightlife, lights, shows and partying! There is never a dull moment when you visit sin city! That is why it is at the top of my favorite place list! (With no hesitation!) There is something to do for all ages and no matter how many times you go, you will always have a different experience then the last!  Ive been to Vegas 4 different times and I'm already planning another trip! If you plan on going to, just make sure you go all out! The Vegas Strip https://unsplash.com/images/travel/las-vegas My second absolute favorite place to go is on a very small excluded island on the shores of Mexico! Yes, I know! Those are two totally different
